Run The Jewels haben überraschend die Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Albums um drei Wochen vorgezogen. Somit ist „RTJ3“ ab sofort als Free Download auf www.RunTheJewels.com sowie bei allen Download- und Streaming-Portalen erhältlich. Physisch erscheint das Album wie geplant am 20. Januar. In einer Nachricht an ihre Fans äußerten sich Run The Jewels zu dieser ganz speziellen Überraschung:

In nur drei Jahren haben Run The Jewels mit ihren bisherigen beiden Alben rund um den Globus getourt und ihre explosive Liveshow auf alle Kontinente gebracht. Mit dem ungewöhnlichen Katzen-Remix-Projekt „Meow The Jewels“ wurde Geld für wohltätige Zwecke gesammelt. Sie traten in Banksys „Dismaland“ Installation auf, riefen das Kunstprojekt „Tag The Jewels“ ins Leben, moderieren ihre eigene weltweite Radioshow, inspirierten zahlreiche Cover der Marvel Comicbücher, wurden zu Charakteren in einem Videospiel, wagten den Ausflug in die Virtual Reality, sahen, wie ihr Symbol bestehend aus Pistole und Faust zu einem Solidaritätszeichen unter Musikliebhabern wurde und haben – das dürfte der wichtigste Punkt sein – eine weltweite und loyale Armee an Fans gewonnen.
